Frittelli advances to match play at Western Amateur Championship

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – University of Texas sophomore Dylan Frittelli shot a one-over 72 in the final stroke-play round to secure one of 16 match-play berths available Thursday at the 107th Western Amateur Championship at the Conway Farms Golf Club. Frittelli (Pretoria, South Africa) opened the tournament with a 73 on Monday before positioning himself for the match-play competition with back-to-back rounds of 70. With his one-over 72 in the final round, Frittelli finished the stroke-play portion tied for 12th place with a one-over 285. The match-play round of 16 and quarterfinals are set for Friday.
