Hickok advances to Round of 64 at British Amateur Championship
June 19, 2012 GLASGOW, Scotland -- Texas Men’s Golf sophomore Kramer Hickok carded a 36-hole total of 2-over 144 (73-71) to advance to match play at the British Amateur Championship over the course of Monday and Tuesday in Glasgow, Scotland. Hickok finished with a 2-over 73 at Royal Troon on Monday and shot even-par 71 at Glasgow - Gailes Links today to tie for 39th place in the 288-player field. TCU’s Daniel Jennevret was 6-under in the stroke-play portion to lead 78 amateurs into Wednesday’s match play stage. The two-round qualification mark after stroke play was at 3-over 145. Hickok joins 77 additional players from 25 countries that advance to match play. The last man standing on Saturday will earn a spot in the British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, a place in the 2013 U.S. Open and traditionally a place in the Masters field. Hickok and Kevin Phelan of Waterford Castle are scheduled to tee off in Wednesday’s Round of 64 at 10:12 a.m. (local time in Scotland). Live results will be available on www.RandA.org.
