JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Texas rising senior Bobby Hudson rallied from a four-stroke deficit to register a two-stroke victory Sunday at the 57th annual Sunnehanna Amateur Championship at the Sunnehanna Country Club.
Hudson, who began the final round in seventh place at 1-under par, fired a 4-under 66 in the final round to finish at 5-under par for the tournament and win by two strokes. It marks his fourth college or amateur tournament victory in his three years as a Longhorn.
The Memphis native claimed the 2007 Tennessee State Amateur Championship after redshirting at Texas during the 2006-07 season. He went on to claim the 2008 Morris Williams Intercollegiate as a redshirt freshman behind a 6-under 65 (a course record) in the final round. Hudson notched his third win earlier this spring at the Mauna Lani Invitational. He was named as an honorable mention selection to the PING Division I All-America Team on June 9.
