Traweek, Constable selected to Academic All-Big 12 Men's Golf Team
April 21, 2009 IRVING, Texas -- Led by first-team selection Austin Traweek, the Texas men’s golf team landed two student-athletes on the 2009 Academic All-Big 12 Men’s Golf Team, the league announced Tuesday. Traweek (Cypress, Texas), a senior, earned a spot on the first team, while sophomore Donald Constable (Wayzata, Minn.) was selected to the second team. Nominated by each institution’s director of student-athlete support services and the media relations offices, the men’s golf academic all-league squad consisted of 25 first-team members and 11 second-team selections. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team consists of those who maintained a 3.00 to 3.19 grade point average. Student-athletes must have maintained a minimum 3.00 grade-point average, either cumulative or in the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 60 percent of his team’s scheduled contests to earn an Academic All-Big 12 selection. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible. 2009 Academic All-Big 12 Men’s Golf Team (Texas’ Selections)
