Schultz selected to Academic All-Big 12 Men's Golf Team
IRVING, Texas -- University of Texas junior Kevin Schultz earned a selection to the 2007 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Golf team, as announced Tuesday by the Big 12 Conference. Schultz (Richardson, Texas) who earned a First Team honor, collected his first career selection to the team. Schultz has appeared in seven tournaments with the Longhorns during the 2006-07 season. His top finish came last October at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, where he helped Texas to the team title by tying for sixth place at three-over par. To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade-point average, either cumulative or in the previous two semesters. Student-athletes must have participated in 60 percent of his team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. First team honorees hold a minimum 3.2 grade-point average, while second team honorees have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average. Schultz and the Longhorns return to action on Monday, April 23 at the 2007 Big 12 Men's Golf Championships at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
