Tournament History
The 2005 Aggie Invitational will be the Aggies' first regular-season home tournament since the Aggies hosted a four-team event at the A&M Golf Course in the fall of 1975. Houston won that event with a team that included Nick Faldo. The Aggies did host the 1993 Southwest Conference Championship at Pebble Creek Country Club, which was won by Longhorn great Justin Leonard.

Last Time Out
Senior Shaun Goodwin (Spring, Texas) shot a final-round 75 to finish second at one-over-par to help the Texas men's golf team finish fourth at the 39th Annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate. The Longhorns ended up with a 26-over-par 890 and finished 18 strokes behind Florida, who won the tournament with an eight-over-par 872. Goodwin ended up five strokes behind medalist Richard Treis of Florida, who finished at four-under-par.

Goodwin entered the final round tied for second at two-under-par, but was able to hold on after a round that included five birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey. After birdying 17, he entered the final hole tied at one-over-par with Florida's Brett Stegmaier. His second shot went into the bunker right of the hole, but an excellent third shot got him within five feet of the hole and he was able to save par. Meanwhile, Stegmaier double-bogeyed his final hole to give Goodwin sole possession of second place.

Junior Matthew Mills (London, England) was the next finisher for the Longhorns, tying for eighth place at five-over-par, after carding consecutive 73s. Mills was playing as an individual, so his score did not count for the team.

Junior Jeff Bell (Plano, Texas) battled to tie for 23rd place at nine-over-par after a three-over-par 75 on the final day. Sophomore Jhonattan Vegas (Maturin, Venezuela) tied for 28th place at 10-over-par.

Junior Matthew Rosenfeld (Plano, Texas) fired a final-round 71 to finish in a tie for 32nd place at 11-over-par. He struggled through the opening two rounds, but came back for the third-best round of the final day. His final 18 was highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par-three 16th (six iron, 211 yards). Freshman Kevin Schultz (Richardson, Texas) ended up in a tie for 50th place at 16-over-par.

Three other Longhorns played as individuals led by freshman Jace Moore (Southlake, Texas), who finished in a tie for 32nd place at 11-over-par. Sophomore Farren Keenan (Middlesex, England) had is best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a three-over-par 75 and finished in a tie for 54th place at 17-over-par. Redshirt freshman Hector Diaz-Ceballos (Morelos, Mexico) tied for 82nd place at 31-over-par.
