Moore leads Men's Golf in round two at U.S. Collegiate Championship
ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- UT junior Jace Moore shot a two-over 74 to lead Texas in round two at the United States Collegiate Championship Tuesday afternoon at the par 72, 7,017-yard Golf Club of Georgia. Texas finished round two with a 24-over 312 to end the day in 15th place at 41-over par. Georgia leads the event at 15-over par, while Wake Forest's Webb Simpson and Clemson's Tanner Ervin lead individually at even par. Moore (Southlake, Texas) mixed in two birdies on the front nine to end the round with a two-over 74 after concluding Monday's opening round with a 13-over 85. He sits in a tie for 66th place with one round remaining. Senior Jhonattan Vegas (Maturin, Venezuela) stroked a five-over 77 to end round two in a tie for 37th place at eight-over par. Senior Farren Keenan (Middlesex, England) carded a seven-over 79 to end the second round in a tie for 57th place. Senior Matt Bortis (Springfield, Mo.) shot an 82 in the second round and sits in a tie for 57th place at 15-over par. Junior Kevin Schultz (Richardson, Texas) withdrew from the second round due to an injury. Texas tees off the final round on Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
