April 7, 2010
IRVING, Texas -- The Big 12 Conference selected Texas sophomore Dylan Frittelli on Wednesday as its men's golfer of the month for March after the South African collected a victory and an additional top-five finish in two outings last month. Frittelli (Pretoria, South Africa) registered his second career collegiate victory on March 18 at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz., and paced Texas to a second-place finish in the event. He matched his season-low round with a 67 in round two. The win marked his third consecutive top-five finish after placing fourth at the Puerto Rico Classic in February and fifth at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters earlier in March. Frittelli boasts five top-five finishes in nine starts this season. He added another top-10 showing on Tuesday when he tied for eighth place at UT's 44th annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate. It is Frittelli's first career selection as the Big 12 men's golfer of the month. Frittelli and the Longhorns resume competition on Saturday, April 17 at the Aggie Invitational in College Station.
