Last Year's Tournament: The Texas men's golf team shot a final-round 304 (+16) and finished in 15th place at the UNLV Invite, March 13. Matthew Rosenfeld fired a two-under-par 70 on the day to tie for sixth place at one-under-par (69-76-70=215). Host UNLV buried the field after shooting an eight-under-par 280 to give them a three-round total of 855 (-9) and won by 13 strokes over Georgia. South Carolina's Mark Anderson and UCLA's Daniel Im were tied at the top of the leaderboard at seven-under-par after 54 holes, but Im bettered Anderson in the lone playoff hole to take medalist honors.

Shaun Goodwin was the next best Longhorn, tying for 41st place at nine-over-par (74-75-76=225). Matthew Mills placed 65th at 16-over-par (78-74-80=232).

Kevin Schultz carded a six-over-par 78 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 71st place at 20-over-par (81-77-78=236), while Jhonattan Vegas tied for 75th place at 26-over-par (81-79-82=242).

Last Time Out: The University of Texas men's golf team finished in 12th place after the final day of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Jeff Bell and Matthew Mills paced the Longhorns by both finishing in a tie for 27th-place. The Longhorns posted rounds of two-under par 286, 10-over par 298 and 12-over par 300 for a total of 20-over par 884 after three rounds.

Georgia came away with the victory after sitting in second place for the first two days of competition. The Bulldogs totaled a 21-under par score of 843, in second was Florida with a 17-under par 847 and Oklahoma State was third with a two-under par 862. Rounding out the top five was Alabama with a one-over par 865 in fourth and East Tennessee State in fifth with a three-over par 867.

Mills shot a final round three-over par round of 75 to finish with a total of two-over par 218. Bell finished with a final round one-over par 73, after rounds of 70 and 75 on the two previous days. Jhonattan Vegas finished with a three-round total of seven-over par 223 and a final round of one-over par 73 to tie for 51st place.

Farren Keenan as fourth on the team with a three round score of nine-over par 225 and a tie for 59th, while Matthew Rosenfeld rounded out the UT contingent with a 24-over par total of 240 after three days.
