Men's Golf preview: PING Arizona Intercollegiate
WHAT: Texas opens the 2008 spring season at the PING Arizona Intercollegiate. WHEN: Monday, Jan. 28 - 9 a.m. Central (36 holes); Tuesday, Jan. 29 - 9 a.m. Central (18 holes) WHO: Joining the Longhorns will be host Arizona, BYU, California, UC-Irvine, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, Tennessee, UCLA, UNLV, and Washington. WHERE: Arizona National Golf Club (par 71, 6,900 yards) - Tucson, Ariz. TEXAS LINEUP: Texas coach John Fields will start senior Jace Moore, sophomore Lance Lopez, redshirt freshman Bobby Hudson, sophomore Charlie Holland and freshman Donald Constable. COACH FIELDS ON THE PING ARIZONA INTERCOLLEGIATE: We're excited to get back into competition. Our two freshmen, two sophomores and one senior will make this a fresh lineup with enthusiasm. I like the team chemistry, and we are looking forward to Donald Constable's debut. With Jace Moore, Charlie Holland and Lance Lopez, we have the postseason experience that will sustain us throughout the season. LAST TIME OUT: Texas tied for eighth place in the 21-team Turtle Bay Intercollegiate on Nov. 7, 2007. Charlie Holland tied for 21st place to lead the Longhorns.
