Men's Golf signee Brandon Stone advances to weekend action at Joburg Open

Top-ranked South African amateur Brandon Stone opened with rounds of 72 and 65 to sit at 6-under entering Sunday's final round.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- Texas Men's Golf signee Brandon Stone made the 67-player cut at the Johannesburg Open on the European Tour Friday afternoon with a 36-hole total of 137 (72-65).

Stone, the top-ranked amateur in South Africa by the South African Golf Association, is tied for 42nd place as Saturday's third round was suspended due to dangerous conditions at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club. Round 3 will restart Sunday morning and the scheduled fourth round will not be played.
