WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Cool, breezy conditions posed a difficult challenge for Texas on Tuesday, as the Longhorns shot a 30-over 318 to finish in 13th place at the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club.
Texas entered the final round in seventh place at 13-over par, but the final day of competition ended with the Longhorns at 43-over par with 907 strokes. Georgia captured the 18-team event at three-over for the tournament, and the Bulldogs' Russell Henley took medalist honors at four-under par.
"Isleworth wasn't kind to us today," UT coach John Fields said. "The course was set with a high rate of difficulty, and the weather was windy and cold. This tournament is doubly frustrating since we had gotten off to a good start with two solid events. This will sting for a while, but the character of this team will show. The guys will learn from this event, and we will progress."
Junior All-American Charlie Holland tied for 28th place at 10-over par after shooting a seven-over 79 in Tuesday's final round. Sophomore Bobby Hudson chipped in Texas' lowest round of the day with a six-over 78, as he tied for 35th place at 11-over par.
Sophomore Donald Constable carded an eight-over 80 to end the tournament alongside Hudson in a tie for 35th place. Junior Lance Lopez carded an 11-over 83 in round three to finish in 57th place at 16-over par.
Freshman Dylan Frittelli stroked a nine-over 81 in the final round to finish the event tied for 67th place at 18-over par.
Texas returns to action on Monday, Nov. 10 at the Turtle Bay Collegiate Invitational in Hawaii.
