Gribble contending for individual title at Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters
March 13, 2010 LAS VEGAS -- Texas freshman Cody Gribble shot a 4-over 76 and kept himself in contention for individual medalist honors Saturday in round two of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters at the par 72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club. With a 32-over 320 in round two, Texas ended the day in ninth place at 41-over par. The 15-team tournament field navigated through gusty winds in round two, and host UNLV emerged with the 36-hole lead at 17-over par for the tournament. UCLA sits in second at 24-over par. Arizona State's Jesper Kennegard and USC's T.J. Vogel hold the individual lead at 1-under par. Gribble's 76 on the day landed him in a tie for sixth place through round two, five shots back of Kennegard and Vogel. Sophomore Dylan Frittelli remains in the top-10 after carding a 6-over 78 in the second round. Frittelli is tied for 10th place at 5-over par heading into Sunday's final round. Junior Bobby Hudson carded an 11-over 83 and ended the round tied for 46th place at 13-over par. Senior Charlie Holland matched Hudson's 83 and is tied for 71st overall at 19-over par. Senior Lance Lopez shot a 14-over 86 and is tied for 77th place at 23-over par. Texas tees off in Sunday's final round at 8 a.m. local time (10 a.m. Central).
