Frittelli notches seventh top-10 finish at Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Texas senior Dylan Frittelli recorded his seventh top-10 finish of the season with a team-best tie for eighth place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters on Sunday. The 2012 Ben Hogan Award Watch List candidate carded a 54-hole total of 2-over-par 218 (71-72-75) at Southern Highlands and paced the Longhorns (292-292-307=891, +27) to sixth place in their final tune-up before next weekend's Morris Williams Invitational at The University of Texas Golf Club in Austin. Sophomore Toni Hakula finished three strokes behind Frittelli and tied for 15th place at 5-over 221 (70-73-78). Freshman Jordan Spieth (76-75-73=224) fired Texas' lowest final round score and his best of the tournament with a 73 to finish in a tie for 27th place. Freshman Kramer Hickok (75-72-83=230) finished tied for 52nd place at 14-over and senior Alex Moon (80-75-81) was six behind with a 236 for 62nd place. Host UNLV (287-292-293=872, +8) nudged 36-hole leader California (286-287-300=873) by one stroke for the team title. UCLA (291-292-299) rounded out the top three finishers in the 15-team field.
