Day of recognition and flyover

The Texas Tech game has been tabbed for the presentation of the 2007 Athletics Hall of Honor inductees, Veteran's Recognition Day, the Letterwinners Roundup and will be capped by a flyover. The 2007 inductees into the UT Athletics Hall of Honor will be presented during pre-game. The men's inductees include baseball's Jim Ehrler and Calvin Murray, basketball's Lance Blanks, football's Priest Holmes, Randy McEachern and Charlie Talbert and track and field's Hollis Gainey. On the women's side, basketball's Fran Harris, softball's Christa Williams, swimming and diving's Whitney Hedgepeth and Vera Ilyina, volleyball's Demetria "Dee" Sance-Padgitt and former cross country/track and field coach Terry Crawford will be honored. The group was officially inducted into the Hall of Honor in ceremonies held on Friday, Nov. 9.

As a part of Veteran's Recognition Day, the Veterans Committee, along with their special guest Lt. General Ricardo S. Sanchez, and all veterans will be recognized. In addition, The University of Texas Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), known as the Longhorn Battalion, will be honored as it celebrates its 60 years of excellence. On the field will be Brigadier General Frederick Rudesheim III, United States Army, Installation Commander, Ft. Hood, Texas and alumnus of the Longhorn Battalion. To wrap up pre-game, Cadet Theresa Ockrassa of the ROTC Longhorn Battalion will sing the National Anthem in conjunction with a flyover, led by Lt. Colonel Kevin Vizzarri, who commands the 4-4 Aerial Reconnaissance Battalion "Gambler Guns." For the Letterwinners Roundup, the T-Association will hold its annual reunion prior to the game, which will include over 600 returning letterwinners.
