General comments: Practice was great. I thought the guys got through some bumps and bruises and looked at the Oklahoma State schemes yesterday, but today might have been the best practice we have had all year. I think they are excited about the ranking again, they are excited about being number one or two in the country, that's what we talked about with them. There is a certain standard that is required of you to stay there and the guys understand that as well. They are not only playing Oklahoma State at homecoming at their place, who was ahead of us 35-7 last year, they are playing to a standard to be one of the best teams in the country.

On being number one in the BCS rankings: We talked at length yesterday about. Our team has great respect for SC. They have won 29 straight games and two national championships and that is unheard of in modern-day. Our guys want to be one of the two teams to play on Jan. 4 like everybody else. We understand that SC is the defending national champion and will stay there until somebody beats them out. We understand that the computers have numbers (and those numbers will change), but we are proud that right now Texas and SC are separating themselves from the rest of the group and that is important to us.

Being one or two is the most important thing. It is exciting to be one, but I think we all understand that SC has made a strong statement the whole year. They play a tough schedule at the end, they will probably end up number one at the end of the year and we want to be the other one that is in that group if we can be.

On the possibility of winning out and playing in the National Championship game: I would think if I was Frank (Beamer of Virginia Tech) or Mike Shula (of Alabama) or Karl Dorrell (of UCLA) or Mark Richt (of Georgia), and I won out, if I was any undefeated team, I would like to think I would be the one playing in there. What happens if everybody wins out, which they can't because two of the six play each other and that will limit some of it, but if you do have three or more that win out, somebody is going to be disappointed.

On if they would be disappointed about not winning out: I think we need to beat Oklahoma State. And last week people were talking about whether we would be third or second. This week they are talking about if we are going to be disappointed and we are first. It's October and there is a lot of football left and the BCS changes more than the moon. We just want to play.
