Opening statement: We've had a great week of practice. And if you go back and look at the series with Nebraska since we've been here, they've probably been our best games because they've all come down to the final plays except two (games). Last year’s game was one of the most exciting games that we've been involved with, and most of the same players are back for both teams. (Nebraska QB) Sam Keller is new, but he brought in great numbers from Arizona State and he's doing the same thing right now. It will be a physical game because Nebraska will be as excited about playing Texas as we are about playing them, and I think that's why these games have come down to the last play of the game three, four, or five times.

We didn't play as well as we wanted to last time we were in this stadium (against Kansas State), and our seniors only have two home games left. As our guys look at it, we think we've improved a lot since that game a month ago and we want to prove that, so this should be a lot of fun for us. But we've talked about the physical part of this football game and we know that Texas vs. Nebraska always comes down to who is the most physical.

On Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan: They won the Big 12 North last year and played in the (Big 12) Conference Championship game and we were trying to get to a point to play against them, and Bill Callahan is a great football coach. As I said Monday, he's already coached in a Super Bowl, which very few people ever get a chance to do. I remember when he was at Wisconsin as an offensive line coach; he's basically an offensive genius. We're all in position now where there are a lot more questions about who we are and what we do by the hour. They've played a lot of great football this year and we expect the best out of them this weekend.

On the game being in Austin: Well sometimes when you've had a game at home that you didn't appreciate, like ours with Kansas State, it's better to go on the road and get back on track, and I think the Nebraska kids will be really excited about coming here. And we all know the Nebraska fans are as good as any in the country and there won't be many seats available for them this weekend, but we know the Nebraska fans will get every available seat because they do that like our fans do across the country.

On Nebraska: Our bunch is excited about seeing that "N" on that helmet, they're excited about the history and the tradition of the (Nebraska) program and they can't wait for the Nebraska game and I know our fans feel the same way. Anytime Texas and Nebraska, that are both in the top 10 in number of wins in the history of college football, get a chance to play each other, it's exciting and especially the way the games have come down in the past. So they can't wait for the weekend.

On the Nebraska team this year: Well they've had success this year, and we've said that (Texas) A&M was able to run the ball (against them), but their problem has been like ours. They're playing hard, they're in the right places and they're really well coached, but they've turned the ball over and that's like us. If you go back and look, we're even in the turnover ratio and they're about plus seven. And when they haven't turned the ball over they've been really, really good. And all of us know that's it's not who is the best team or who is the best program, it's who plays the best on Saturday, and if you didn't feel that way about college football going into this year, we've definitely all learned that by now. I think Nebraska will play great this weekend.

On trying to get his 100th win at Texas this weekend: The importance of winning 100 games here is to give credit to the consistency of all the coaches and all the players that have been here during these past 10 years that have all done such a great job.

On DB Ryan Palmer: Ryan Palmer is playing great for us. He and Brandon Foster were two of the big question marks this year coming in and they've stood up every week. And Nebraska is throwing the ball really well with Sam Keller and their receivers are playing great, so it will be another big challenge for us, but they've more than answered the bell so far. And it's so unique that they're both a little bit undersized if you look at the corners we've had here, they both played for the same high school and they both had to pay their dues and wait their turns.
