FSN Southwest announces contingency plan for Texas-Rice telecast
AUSTIN, Texas -- FSN Southwest has a contingency plan in place to address a potential conflict with Saturday's back-to-back Texas Tech-Oklahoma State and Texas-Rice college football telecasts. The network has offered local cable operators the opportunity to start the Texas-Rice game on FSN Plus if the Texas Tech-Oklahoma State game, which kicks off at 2:30 PM CT, has not ended by 6:00 PM CT. FSN Plus is an alternate feed used to alleviate programming conflicts that cable operators can clear on a separate local channel. If the scenario plays out, a crawl at the bottom of the screen will inform FSN Southwest viewers that they can see the start of the Texas-Rice game by switching to FSN Plus on their local cable system. When the Texas Tech-Oklahoma State game ends, FSN Plus viewers will be instructed to turn back to FSN Southwest to watch the rest of the Texas-Rice game. FSN Plus is available in Austin on Time Warner Ch. 77 and on DirecTV Ch. 667. Viewers in other markets should contact their local cable system for availability of FSN Plus in their area.
