Longhorn freshman linebacker Tevin Jackson has not enrolled in Fall classes at Texas because of a high school transcript issue with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Texas will continue to pursue getting the issue resolved in order for Jackson to enroll, but if it cannot be rectified in the very near future, he will not enroll this semester. Jackson was enrolled in and completed nine hours of class work at UT this summer. He worked out with the team during preseason drills in August before the Fall semester began, although he did miss some practice time with a wrist injury.
"I'm disappointed that I might not be able to be at Texas this semester, but know it's a situation that I can get straightened out," Jackson said. "I'm going to continue to work with the coaches and staff at UT to take care of this. Hopefully it will all work out as soon as possible, but it also will give me time to focus on rehabbing my wrist."
"We're disappointed for Tevin," said Mack Brown. "He's a terrific kid who has a really bright future. We'll help him any way we can and look forward to getting him back here with our program."
