Texas and USC schedule home and home football series

AUSTIN — Texas and USC, two of the top 10 winningest programs in college football history, have agreed to play a home-and-home series, the two schools announced on Thursday. The Longhorns will travel to Los Angeles on Sept. 16, 2017, and the Trojans will visit Austin on Sept. 15, 2018.

Texas and USC have played five times with the Trojans holding a 4-1 lead, including one of the most memorable games in college football history, the 2005 BCS Championship Game. The Longhorns won that contest, 41-38, to claim their first national title since 1970. USC had wins in 1955 and 1967 in Los Angeles and in 1956 and 1966 in Austin.

The Longhorns rank second on the NCAA all-time victory list with 845 wins while the Trojans rank 10th (761). UT (49) and USC (48), rank second and third on the all-time bowl appearance list having played in a combined 97 bowl games.
