Q&A with Vince Young: August 25

Vince Young checked in with MackBrown-TexasFootball.com following Wednesday night's scrimmage.

On leading the offense: I just need to remain poised and keep the offense moving. I feel like it's my job to keep everybody motivated and excited about playing football.

On the offense in the scrimmage:
We did a great job tonight moving the ball down the field. It was a complete team effort. We ran the ball well. The guys up front were giving me time and we had some nice pass plays. The best part is that when we got in the red zone today, we finished.

On the week leading up to the game: I just want to remain loose, while keeping the spirits of the team up. We'll finally be facing another team, so it's time to take our game up a notch. We know North Texas is going to come after us and play like they've got nothing to lose, so we better be prepared. They are a tough team and they've been doing well in their conference, so we need to make sure we play well and execute.

On Erik Hardeman: He played very well tonight. He stepped up tonight. He took some big hits but he ran the ball well and made some big first downs for us. He's doing a great job using what coach Haywood has taught him and he showed coach Brown that if he needs him, he'll be ready to play.
