Why did you choose to attend the University of Texas?
I really just chose Texas because it was the best school for me in all aspects. The football program is a great program, and you really can’t beat it. I knew that I wanted to stay in Texas, and be close to my mom and my family. When I was doing the recruiting process I wanted to take in all aspects of every school, and then when I looked at them, whether it was the academic side or the size of the school, I just realized that Texas was the best place for me.
What is it like being part of the Texas tradition?
It’s unbelievable. I don’t think that any other schools have a tradition like UT. It just feels great to be a part of it.
What are you thoughts about the family atmosphere here at Texas?
It was really important because I visited other schools where that family atmosphere was different. It wasn’t as friendly and family orientated as it is here. The coaches have their wives up here all of the time. We get to be around all of the coaches and players all of the time, and it kind of helps us come together as a football team and makes us better.
How do you feel about starting your college career?
It’s really exciting to come down here and move into the dorm. I am twenty minutes from home, so it’s not that big of a jump. But I am really excited.
What is one of the first things you’d like to do after you get settled?
I can’t wait until the first workouts, when we can all just get to know everyone and I am excited to put in the work. I enjoy winning, and Texas is good at doing that. I am excited to play for a team that is at this caliber.
