Picture of the day: Colt McCoy and John Elway

June 29, 2010

Former QB Colt McCoy was one of three Longhorns honored at the 2010 Walter Camp Football Foundation annual awards banquet in New Haven, Conn., this year. McCoy was the WCFF Player of the Year, while former WR Jordan Shipley and former S Earl Thomas were named to the All-America team.

It marked the second consecutive year McCoy won the award, making him one of just three players in the award's 43-year history to be honored twice. During the weekend, McCoy met NFL great and WCFF Man of the Year John Elway.

In 2009 McCoy was also won the Maxwell Award (nation's top player), AT&T Player of the Year Award, Davey O'Brien Award (nation's top QB), Manning Award (nation's top QB) and Unitas Golden Arm Award (nation's top senior QB), and he was became a two-time Heisman finalist. He was a unanimous All-America selection and was also named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year by both The Associated Press and league's coaches.
