Draft Q&A with David Snow

May 1, 2012

How does it feel to have signed with the Buffalo Bills?
It feels great. When I was a child, my dad and I used to watch football and some of the best games of my childhood were watching the Bills play in the snow. It’s kind of cool to have the possibility to maybe do that.

How did things come about with the Bills?
In the later part of the draft a lot of people called and said they wanted to draft me, but it ended up nobody got to, so my agent and I started looking at all the best options. So that was the best one for me, and we went with it.

What do you know about the Bills?
I know quite a bit. I like their team. We have [former Texas CB] A.J. [Aaron] Williams playing for them, and they’re just on the cusp. I think they’re going to be really good next year and the year after. So I’m really excited to be a part of it.

How will it feel to be playing with Aaron Williams again?
It’s going to be fantastic. It was a great three years we had together. I loved having him on the team, and he was an outstanding playmaker for us, so I can’t wait to have him again.

The advantage of being a free agent is a chance to find a team that fits you. Do you feel good about the fit you found?
Yes, I really do. Everyone puts a lot of stake in being drafted, but really the big thing is just having a team that lets you compete. That’s what I think Buffalo [will be], and it’s a great opportunity for me.

At Texas you were able to play all over the offensive line. Do you think that versatility will help you in Buffalo?
Yes. When you can play all the positions, if someone goes down, you’re able to fill the hole. I think it helps me a lot to be able to do that. I don’t know where I’ll be playing there yet, but whatever it is, I’ll be fine with it.

What emotions are going through your mind right now?
It’s kind of like it all starts back over again. When you get to high school, you’re just trying to get better and play. Then in college you’re doing the same thing, and now in the NFL, I’m just trying to play. It’s really exciting, and I’m just ready to get it started.

How did your family react?
They’re excited. My dad’s really excited, and my family really likes the cold. My last name is Snow, so it’s going to be good.
