Randall drafted 215th overall by the Miami Dolphins

Austin -- Texas DT Kheeston Randall was selected 215th overall by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft on Saturday. He becomes the fourth Longhorn DT selected in the NFL Draft in the last five years. A Texas defensive linemen has now been selected in every draft for seven straight years including Sam Acho (Arizona Cardinals, 2011), Sergio Kindle (Baltimore Ravens, 2010), Lamarr Houston (Oakland Raiders, 2010), Brian Orakpo (Washington Redskins, 2009), Roy Miller (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2009), Henry Melton (Chicago Bears), Frank Okam (Houston Texans, 2008), Tim Crowder ( Denver Broncos, 2007), Brian Robison (Minnesota Vikings, 2007) and Rodrique Wright (Miami Dolphins, 2006).
In 2011 he was named first team All-Big 12 selection (Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News) when he recorded 34 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, eight pressures and one pass breakup after starting all 13 games. He helped Texas lead the Big 12 and rank sixth in the nation in rushing defense (96.23 ypg) and 11th in total defense (306.08). |
