Edwards agrees to terms with Chargers as a free agent
SAN DIEGO -- University of Texas TE Brock Edwards (Fort Worth, Texas/Christian HS) agreed to terms as an undrafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers on Tuesday. He will be reunited with former Longhorns tight ends coach Tim Brewster, the Chargers third-year assistant head coach/tight ends coach, in San Diego. A four-year letterman at UT, Edwards caught 32 passes for 422 yards (No. 9 on the UT all-time receiving yards by a TE list) and four TDs during his career. Also a solid contributor on special teams, he played in 47 career games, starting 16. He posted career-highs with 16 receptions for 258 yards and a TD as a junior in 2002. Edwards joins WR B.J. Johnson (Denver Broncos) and deep snapper Cullen Edwards (Minnesota Vikings) as Longhorns agreeing to terms as free agents this week.
