Texas has six total players competing in the AFC/NFC Championship games with at least one player on each roster for Atlanta, Baltimore, New England (
Kyle Hix - IR) and San Francisco. This includes players listed on the active roster, injured reserve and practice squad.
Texas is one of eight schools that are guaranteed to have an alumnus earn a Super Bowl ring. Florida, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oregon, Tennessee and UCF round out the list.
The Longhorns are also guaranteed to have a former player on the winning Super Bowl team for the sixth-straight season. It's also the ninth-consecutive year a Longhorn will play in the Super Bowl.
Only three schools - Miami, Oregon and Florida - have more former players still remaining on playoff team rosters.
