Appeared in all 13 games at fullback, as one of UT's primary kickoff returners and on the FG/PAT team ... started the final six contests and seven of the last eight games overall ... shared UT's Most Improved Offensive Player Award ... a two-time Darrell K Royal Offensive Player of the Game honoree (at North Carolina, vs. Iowa State) ... had seven carries for 27 yards and 20 receptions for 273 yards and two TDs ... also returned four kickoffs for 103 yards (25.8 avg.) ... hauled in a career-high six receptions for a career-best 111 yards (UT record for a fullback), including a career-long 49-yard catch-and-run, at Nebraska ... joined Eric Metcalf (1985-88) and Johnny "Lam" Jones (1976-79) as the only players in UT history to register a 100-yard rushing and 100-yard receiving game during their careers ... the 111 receiving yards also were the third-most by a UT running back in school annals ... had two receptions for 30 yards, including an 8-yard TD, in the Cotton Bowl against LSU ... caught three passes for 45 yards and returned a pair of kickoffs for 70 yards, including a 48-yarder, at Texas Tech ... had three catches for 32 yards against No. 17 Iowa State and posted 11 knockdown blocks in clearing the way for 245 rushing yards ... caught a 35-yard TD pass at North Carolina ... added three receptions against Baylor ... ran the ball six times for 26 yards against Houston.
SOPHOMORE (2001)
Played in 11 games, including the Holiday Bowl ... started at tailback in three contests ... did not play in the Big 12 Championship game against No. 9 Colorado or at Texas A&M ... second on the team in rushing attempts (101) and rushing yards (519) ... ranked third on the squad with five rushing TDs ... a three-time recipient of UT's Darrell K Royal Offensive Player of the Week award ... had a career-high 152 yards on 26 carries and two scores against Texas Tech ... in his first career start, ran for 103 yards (on 19 carries) and two TDs at Houston ... ran for 59 yards (on 14 carries) and scored a pair of TDs (including the game-winner with 38 seconds remaining) against No. 21 Washington in the Holiday Bowl ... rushed for 75 yards on only 10 attempts against North Carolina and had a career-long 31-yard run ... had 70 yards on nine carries at Oklahoma State ... opened the season with 64 yards (on 15 carries) and scored a TD in the season opener against New Mexico State ... added his only reception of the season in that contest (seven yards).
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2000)
Played in all 12 games, including the Holiday Bowl ... served as a backup tailback and fullback and was one of UT's primary kick returners ... averaged 22.1 yards per return (eight returns) and had a career-long 40-yard run-back against No. 22 Texas A&M ... returned three kicks for 56 yards against No. 8 Oregon in the Holiday Bowl ... rushed for 57 yards on 13 carries and scored a TD in limited action as a RB ... also had two receptions for 13 yards ... rushed for a career-high 27 yards on four carries and scored on a 21-yard TD run against Oklahoma State ... had 16 yards on three carries and had a 12-yard reception against Houston ... redshirted in 1999.
