Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations

Marcus Tubbs was elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations in 2013 after having spent a year as director of football operations and the previous two as special assistant for player relations. In 2009, Tubbs served as a football operations intern.

In his current role, Tubbs' duties include assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of the team; planning and coordinating events and team travel; and co-coordinating facility management and personnel in the Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center. He also serves as a liaison to the players assisting with their off-field needs, and as an external relations liaison dealing with players' families, compliance issues and internal UT departmental needs.

Tubbs joined the Texas staff after a four-year career in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks that was cut short by injury. The 23rd overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, Tubbs was a two-time All-Big 12 defensive tackle at Texas, including first-team honors as a senior in 2003, when he was also chosen as a team captain. During his UT career, he played in 48 games, including 36 starts, and posted 207 tackles, 41 TFLs, 15 sacks and five forced fumbles, helping the Longhorns to a 41-10 record.



Tubbs and his wife, Britanny have one daughter, Savannah.
