Coached by Inez Perez at Round Rock High ... tabbed Texas 5A second-team all-state in football as a senior ... two-time USA Today and Track & Field News All-American (shot put/discus) ... won the Texas 5A shot put and discus titles as a senior and sophomore (injured as a junior) ... set a state discus record (208-8) and became just the third athlete in state history to break 70 feet (71-2) in the shot in 1996 ... qualified for Jr. Nationals and the U.S. Junior Pan-Am team in 1995.
