JUNIOR (1998)
Started all 12 games, including the Cotton Bowl, at left guard ... named first-team Academic All-Big 12 ... shared the UT Offensive Lineman award ... led the team in pancake blocks (25) and ranked second in knockdowns (36) ... helped pave the way for Ricky Williams to lead the nation in rushing for the second-straight year in a row with 2,124 ... had a key block on Williams' 60-yard touchdown run vs. No. 6 Texas A&M ... that play was tabbed the Compaq College Football Play of the Year ... his blocking helped the Horns average 486.7 yards per game (222.2 rushing) over the final nine games of the season and go 8-1 in that span ... helped the Longhorns to 200-yard rushing games vs. Iowa State (336), vs. New Mexico State (274), vs. No. 6 Texas A&M (251), vs. Baylor (244) and vs. No. 25 Mississippi State (238) in the Cotton Bowl.

HIGH SCHOOL
Coached by Inez Perez at Round Rock High ... tabbed Texas 5A second-team all-state in football as a senior ... two-time USA Today and Track & Field News All-American (shot put/discus) ... won the Texas 5A shot put and discus titles as a senior and sophomore (injured as a junior) ... set a state discus record (208-8) and became just the third athlete in state history to break 70 feet (71-2) in the shot in 1996 ... qualified for Jr. Nationals and the U.S. Junior Pan-Am team in 1995.
