Amy Culp began as Assistant Athletics Director/Sports Dietitian at The University of Texas in 2012. She previously served as a consultant sports dietitian for the University for five years. Armed with her wealth of nutrition knowledge and a true passion for leading others toward a healthier lifestyle, Culp feels she is doing her life's work when working with individual athletes and teams on fueling strategies for optimizing performance and health. Culp earned her bachelor of science with distinction in food and nutrition from San Diego State University and completed her clinical training at the highly competitive and challenging VA San Diego Healthcare System. She is a registered and licensed dietitian and is board certified in sports dietetics. While at SDSU, she was chosen as the Outstanding California Dietetic Student of the Year for the State of California by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Culp is an active member of the national and local chapters of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association, Cardiovascular & Wellness Dietetic Practice Group, Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group, and Austin Eating Disorders Specialists. Culp and her husband, Yancy, have two children - a daughter, Lily, and a son, Scout. |
