SENIOR (2001)
Started all 13 games at free safety, including the Holiday Bowl ... named a permanent Team Captain and shared the team's Most Improved Defensive Player and American Airlines D.X. Bible Spirit awards ... an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection ... led the team with 88 tackles (60 solo) ... key member of a UT defense that led the nation in total defense (236.2 ypg) and ranked third in passing (146.7 ypg) and scoring defense (13.7 ppg), fourth in pass efficiency defense (88.0 rtg) and sixth in rushing defense (89.5 ypg) ... the Longhorns were one of only two units that ranked among the top 10 nationally in all five statistical categories (Virginia Tech was the other) ... SOPHOMORE (1999)
Started all 14 games, including the Cotton Bowl, at cornerback ... led the team with 16 PBUs (most by a UT player since Mark Berry in 1991) and shared the team lead with two interceptions ... also ranked eighth on the squad in tackles (63), caused four fumbles, had a sack (-5 yards) and two TFLs (-12 yards) ... posted his first career interception in the season opener against North Carolina State ... had a season-high 10 tackles and an interception against Oklahoma ... caused a fumble in three consecutive games at one point -- vs. Nebraska, at Iowa State and at Oklahoma State (two) ... returned a fumble 20 yards for a score against Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game and matched his season-best with 10 stops.
