Associate Athletics Director for Football Operations

Arthur Johnson, former associate athletic director for internal operations at Georgia, returned to the Longhorns staff as associate athletics director for football operations in January 2011.

A 20-year veteran of the athletics management and operations field, Johnson begins his second stint with the Longhorns after spending six seasons at Texas from 1999-2005 in the role assistant AD for football operations.

Johnson will handle scheduling, team travel, planning player-related activities, aiding in the day-to-day operations of the football program and coordinating the Longhorns football camps, along with managing Moncrief Athletics Complex.

Johnson comes back to Texas after spending the past six years at Georgia, where he was responsible for oversight of the facilities, human resources, event management and football equipment departments in the Athletic Association, as well as sport supervision.

Johnson originally joined the UT staff after spending four years as a director of football operations at two NCAA FBS institutions, including five months as the administrative assistant to the assistant athletics director for football operations at North Carolina in 1999. Prior to his time at UNC, he served as manager of football operations at Arizona State for three years.

A 1992 Georgia graduate, Johnson spent 11 years total with the Bulldogs, including four as a student manager. Upon graduation, he remained on the football staff, serving as the administrative assistant to the head coach from 1992-94 and then as an administrative assistant in the event management office from 1994-96.

Johnson received his bachelor's of business administration in risk management and insurance from Georgia in 1992 and his master's of education in business education in 1994.

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Black Coaches Association, AFCA Football Operations Committee, and has served as a facilitator at the NCAA Coaches Academy.

A native of Thomasville, Ga., Johnson was a three-year letterman in both football and basketball at Thomasville High School.

Johnson and his wife, T'Leatha, have one son, Aaron.
