• Wednesday's contest marks the eighth meeting between Texas and North Carolina. It is the second game of a four-year home-and-home series between the two programs. UT has won four of the last five contests against the Tar Heels and holds a 4-3 in the series that dates back to the 1992-93 season.
• Since arriving at Texas in 1998, Rick Barnes is 3-1 against North Carolina.
• The Longhorns have won 14 straight non-conference home games and have posted an 86-3 (.965) mark in non-conference home games since the start of the 2002-03 season.
• UT owns a 29-14 (.674) mark against AP Top 25 opponents under Rick Barnes at the Erwin Center. North Carolina is ranked No. 23 in the AP poll this week.
