Notes at a Glance
• Texas is making its third appearance in the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday against No. 20/25 Georgetown. UT's other appearances were in 2003 against Arizona and 2008 against Villanova.
• Tuesday will be the second time Georgetown and Texas have met. The Longhorns won the first meeting, 78-70, on Jan. 8, 1972 in Austin.
• Texas has limited its first seven opponents to an average of 55.7 ppg on a combined 30.7% FG shooting (126-of-411), including a 24.5% mark from 3-point range (36-of-147). UT has held all seven of its opponents under 40% FG shooting this season, including three to below 30% FG shooting (Coppin State, .246; Sam Houston State, .210; UT Arlington, .295).
• Six freshmen account for 46% of UT's scoring (30.0 ppg), 77% of blocks (5.9 bpg), 79% of assists (9.6 apg) and 53% of rebounds (21.8 rpg).
• UT has used four different starting lineups in seven games this season. Five freshmen have made an appearance in the starting lineup.
• The Longhorns set team season highs in three-point FG made (13-of-26), assists (18) and steals (10) during Saturday's victory against UT Arlington. Texas converted 45.1% (23-of-51) from the floor and 50% (13-of-26) from 3-point range during Saturday's win against UT Arlington. UTA entered the contest allowing just 31.6% FG shooting (tops in NCAA Division I) and 25.3% three-point FG shooting on the year.
• Sheldon McClellan leads UT in scoring (17.0 ppg) and is shooting 91.1% (41-45) from the free throw line. He has reached double-figure scoring in all seven games.
• Over the last five games, Julien Lewis has averaged 14.0 ppg while hitting 24-of-44 field goals (.545), including 12-of-23 (.522) from three-point range. He had a game-high 18 points while hitting 6-of-10 threes and added four steals and three assists in 26 minutes during Saturday's win against UT Arlington. Lewis set a career high in three-pointers made and tied his career high in steals.
• Freshman Cameron Ridley ranks second in the Big 12 in blocks (2.7 bpg), and freshman Javan Felix ranks second in the Big 12 in assists (6.3 apg).
• Over the last four games, Javan Felix has recorded 29 assists against 10 turnovers. He had nine assists against just two turnovers in 25 minutes during Saturday's win against UT Arlington.
