Shawn Williams bio page

What are your thoughts on being part of what some say is one of the best freshman classes to ever come to Texas? It feels good. It's always good to be considered one of the best. I'm looking forward to it.

What are you going to have to do to earn playing time?
The main thing is playing defense. That's always a key factor. If you can't stop anybody, you're not going to play anyway, no matter who you are. That's what I'm working on right now.

Tell us about your three-point shooting ability? That's my so-called trademark, but I'm trying to work on every aspect of my game and be a complete player.

What are your thoughts on "hitting the ground running" in the first part of the season?
I'm anticipating it. They say when the season starts, it's treacherous. But I'm looking forward to it.

Are there any facets of your game that are underrated? Rebounding. I prided myself on rebounding in high school. It's probably one of the best aspects of my game.

Tell us a little about Avery Bradley: He's a cool dude. He's always keeping us laughing. He's always telling jokes. We do our regional thing about where everybody's from, and he's from Washington. On the court, he's an athlete. I've never seen a guy that can do the stuff he can do.

Tell us a little about J'Covan Brown: He's a cool dude too. He's another jokester who is always laughing about something.

Now more about you:

Favorite food: chicken gizzards
Favorite musician: Lil' Boosie
Favorite Austin eatery: Fuddruckers
Favorite TV Show: The Game
Favorite movie: Men of Honor
Which coach from a TV show or movie would you most like to play for? Al Pacino from Any Given Sunday
What's one thing you own that you couldn't go a week without? Xbox 360
What's been your best memory so far on the basketball court? winning the state championship
What got you starting playing basketball? My mom and dad both played. They got me interested in it early on.
What one piece of advice would you give elementary school kids? Impossible is nothing. You can do anything.
What one moment in history do you wish you would have witnessed personally? Martin Luther King's `I Have a Dream' speech
What actor would you have portray you in a movie about your life? Samuel L. Jackson
You chose your jersey number because: I'm from Arkansas and all the good players from Arkansas - Joe Johnson and Derek Fisher - wore number 2.
In your dream 2-on-2 matchup, whom would you pick as a teammate and who would you play against? I'd team up with Kobe Bryant and we would take on Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller.
