Aug. 5, 2009

AUSTIN, Texas -- Ever wanted to be part of history-in-the-making? Here is your opportunity.

Texas Men's Basketball faces 2009 NCAA Champion North Carolina on Saturday, Dec. 19, in the first basketball game to be played at Cowboys Stadium.

Fans can purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster.com. Pricing levels available are $30, $50, $75, $200, $250 and $500. Parking at Cowboys Stadium is also available for purchase at Ticketmaster.com for $30 per car.

The largest crowd to witness a UT Basketball game came in the 2003 NCAA Semifinals, when a total of 54,432 packed the Louisiana Superdome to see the Longhorns and Syracuse in the Final Four. Now, with your support, we'd like to break that single-game attendance record.

Since head coach Rick Barnes took over the UT program prior to the 1998-99 season, the Longhorns have become one of the nation's elite college basketball programs.

The Horns are one of just seven programs nationally to have advanced to each of the last 11 NCAA Tournaments. Texas has advanced to at least the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament in five of the last eight years, including trips to the Elite Eight in 2006 and 2008 and the Final Four in 2003.

Both teams are expected to again compete for conference titles and make deep runs in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Texas is ranked No. 3 in the ESPN pre-Preseason poll, while North Carolina checks in at No. 5. The Longhorns return four of their five starters from last year's team that advanced to the NCAA Second Round, and Texas adds one of the top recruiting classes in the country.

Don't miss this special opportunity to make history while watching two of college basketball's finest programs at Cowboys Stadium.
