COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Former University of Texas stars LaMarcus Aldridge, D.J. Augustin and Kevin Durant are three of the 25 top rising NBA players who have accepted invitations from USA Basketball to participate in the 2009 USA Basketball Men's National Team mini-camp scheduled for July 22-25 in Las Vegas. The selections were announced Thursday by USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo.
Joining the trio of former Longhorns in accepting invitations to attend the mini-camp are: Trevor Ariza (Los Angeles Lakers), Jerryd Bayless (Portland Trail Blazers), Ronnie Brewer (Utah Jazz), Glen Davis (Boston Celtics), Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies), Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers), Jeff Green (Oklahoma City Thunder), Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers), Devin Harris (New Jersey Nets), Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers), Kyle Korver (Utah Jazz), David Lee (New York Knicks), Brook Lopez (New Jersey Nets), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves), O.J. Mayo (Memphis Grizzlies), Paul Millsap (Utah Jazz), Greg Oden (Portland Trail Blazers), Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls), Brandon Roy (Portland Trail Blazers), Josh Smith (Atlanta Hawks), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Thaddeus Young (Philadelphia 76ers).
The mini-camp will feature practice sessions on July 23-24 at Valley High School, and it will be capped by the USA Basketball Showcase, a Blue-White intra-squad game, on Saturday, July 25. Tip for the Showcase is set for 8 p.m. Pacific (10 p.m. Central) at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV.
