SERIES: Kansas leads, 15-6. Last meeting: Kansas 84-74 (March 16, 2008; Kansas City).

Series vs. Kansas
Saturday’s contest marks the 22nd meeting between Texas and Kansas. The Jayhawks hold a 15-6 lead in the all-time series that dates back to a 36-34 Texas win in Austin on Dec. 16, 1938. The two teams split a pair of meetings last season. Texas is looking for its first win in school history at Allen Fieldhouse, as Kansas holds an 8-0 lead in games played in Lawrence entering Saturday’s contest.

20 Wins … Again
With its victory on Monday against Baylor, the Longhorns reached the 20-win mark for the 10th consecutive season. Texas has reached the 30-win plateau in two of the last three years (31-7 in 2007-08 and 30-7 in 2005-06). UT’s current streak of nine straight 20-win campaigns is a school record. Prior to the current streak, the previous school mark for most consecutive 20-win seasons was four (1988-89 to 1991-92).

Going for 10 League Wins … Again
A win in Lawrence on Saturday would mark the 10th time in 11 seasons under Rick Barnes that the Horns have reached double digits in league wins. Texas posted a 9-7 conference mark in 2004-05. The Horns have recorded at least nine wins in each of Barnes’ 11 seasons in Austin. UT reached 12 league wins in each of the previous three seasons (13-3 in 2005-06, 12-4 in 2006-07 and 13-3 in 2007-08) and recorded at least 13 conference victories in five of Barnes’ 11 seasons in Austin (13-3 in 1998-99, 13-3 in 1999-2000, 13-3 in 2002-03, 13-3 in 2005-06 and 13-3 in 2007-08).

Improving Offense
Beginning with UT’s home game against Oklahoma State on Feb. 10, Dogus Balbay was inserted into the starting lineup at the point guard spot. Since this change was made, Texas has been a much improved and more efficient team at the offensive end of the court. The Longhorns have a 5-2 record since inserting Balbay into the starting lineup.
