Notes at a Glance
• Kansas holds a 21-7 lead in the all-time series and won the first meeting of the season on Jan. 19 in Austin, 64-59. Texas is 1-10 on the road against KU. The Longhorns broke KU’s 69-game home winning streak on Jan. 22, 2011 with a 74-63 victory against the 2nd-ranked Jayhawks.
• Texas will wear a black Nike Hyper Elite Road uniform on Saturday. UT is in a group of select Nike and Jordan Brand programs wearing special ‘road warrior’ uniforms this season.
• Through Feb. 10, Texas ranks second in the nation in FG percentage defense (.362) -- only behind Kansas -- and first in 3-point FG percentage defense (.256).
• Texas played in its fourth overtime game of the season against Iowa State on Wednesday. UT’s four OT games is one shy of a program-record five set during the 2006-07 season.
• Sophomore guard Myck Kabongo made his season debut on Wednesday against Iowa State after sitting out the first 23 games due to a NCAA suspension. Kabongo recorded 13 points (5-10 FG) with seven assists and four rebounds in 35 minutes, before fouling out in overtime.
• Sophomore guard Sheldon McClellan leads the team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and free throw percentage (.806). McClellan scored all of UT’s 10 points in the second overtime against ISU on Wednesday, including a 6-for-6 mark from the FT line.
• Freshman forward Ioannis Papapetrou is averaging 11.9 ppg and 5.4 rpg while hitting 37-of-77 (.481) field goals over the last nine contests. On Wednesday, Papapetrou made a last-second 3-pointer at the end of regulation against Iowa State to force overtime. He finished with 14 points and eight rebounds.
• Freshman forward Connor Lammert made his first collegiate start against Iowa State on Wednesday, finishing with season highs in points (14), FG made (6), assists (4) and minutes (40).
ESPN College GameDay
• Saturday's contest in Lawrence will be part of ESPN's College GameDay Driven by State Farm college basketball series this season. This will mark the seventh appearance by the Longhorns on the popular weekly program since it debuted during the 2004-05 season. The last time Texas was featured in the series came on March 5, 2011 at Baylor (60-54 win by Texas).
