Series vs. Kansas State
Saturday’s contest marks the 23rd meeting between Texas and Kansas State. The Wildcats hold a 13-9 lead in the all-time series which dates back to an 87-60 Kansas State win in Manhattan on Dec. 8, 1971. The Longhorns are 8-7 against Kansas State in the Rick Barnes era. Texas and Kansas State have split (5-5) the previous 10 meetings in Austin entering Saturday’s contest.

Texas A&M Game Notes 
 Texas won its fifth straight game against Texas A&M and improved to 23-7 against the Aggies during the Rick Barnes era. UT has won 42 of the last 51 meetings between the two schools since the beginning of the 1989-90 campaign. 
 The Horns improved to 119-16 (.881) against in-state foes during the Rick Barnes era. 
 Texas posted a 14-8 assist-to-turnover ratio, while the Aggies registered a 7-to-12 assist-to-turnover ratio. 
 UT recorded a 15-10 advantage in points off turnovers and a 26-18 advantage in points in the paint. 
 J’Covan Brown (20 points) topped the 20-point mark for the 13th time this season and 21st time in his career (93 games). He reached double figures in scoring for the 22nd time this year and 55th time in his career (92 games). Brown also added a game-high seven assists and went 4-of-4 from three-point range.
 Sheldon McClellan (15 points) reached double figures in scoring for the 14th time this season and fifth time in Big 12 play. He scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half.
 Alexis Wangmene (10 points) reached double figures in scoring for the fifth time this year and in his career (129 games) and first time in Big 12 play.
 Myck Kabongo (five assists) recorded at least five assists for the 13th time this year and sixth time in Big 12 play. 
 Jaylen Bond tallied a game-high eight rebounds (four offensive) in just 22 minutes off the bench.
 Jonathan Holmes scored all nine of his points during a stretch of 4:49 in the second half (13:04 to 8:15).

Horns at Home
Texas is in its 35th year of play in the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns have registered an all-time record of 420-97 (.812) in the building. Since Rick Barnes arrived in Austin, UT has recorded a 195-26 (.882) mark at the Erwin Center, including a 92-18 (.836) record in Big 12 Conference home games. Texas is 105-11 (.905) at the Erwin Center in the last seven seasons (dating to the start of the 2005-06 season).

Success from the Stripe
The Horns have converted 72.4% (423-of-584) of their free throw attempts this season. The highest FT percentage team at Texas in the Rick Barnes era came during the 2006-07 season (73.6%). The last time the Horns shot better than 75 percent from the stripe was during the 1977-78 season (76.0%).

 Texas has converted 73.3% (192-of-262) from the stripe during its first 11 league contests this year.

What Can Brown Do For You?
Junior guard J’Covan Brown has played in 93 career games (33 starts). A Preseason All-Big 12 Team selection, Brown leads the team in scoring (19.6 ppg) and minutes (34.6 mpg) and ranks second in assists (4.0 apg) and steals (29). He has converted 41.9% (158-of-377) of his field goal attempts, including a 57-of-152 (.375) mark from three-point range. Brown has recorded 30-plus points three times this year, topped the 20-point mark 13 times and reached double figures in scoring in 22 of the first 24 games.
 He tallied a game-high 20 points (6-of-9 FG, 4-of-4 threes, 4-of-4 FT), seven assists and two steals at Texas A&M (Feb. 6). Brown had the go-ahead basket with 53 seconds left and sealed the win by hitting a pair of free throws with 17 seconds remaining.

Brown’s Success at the Stripe
J’Covan Brown has established himself as one of the top free throw shooters in UT history. 
 Brown currently ranks fourth on the school’s all-time career FT percentage list, as he has converted 286-of-333 (.859) from the stripe in his career. 
 He has hit 98-of-117 (.838) free throws this season, including 58-of-66 (.879) in Big 12 Conference play.

Wangmene Provides Post Presence
Alexis Wangmene has played in 129 career games (19 starts). He ranks fourth on the team in rebounding (4.5 rpg) and second in blocked shots (20) while averaging 4.6 points in 21.6 minutes per game this season. He has converted 50.6% of his field goal attempts (39-of-77) this year.
 He recorded 10 points (4-of-5 FG) and three rebounds in 26 minutes at Texas A&M (Feb. 6).

Kabongo Takes the Point
Myck Kabongo leads the team in assists (5.2 apg) and steals (30) and is third in scoring (9.6 ppg) this season. He has recorded at least five assists in 13 of the first 24 games this year. Kabongo has reached double figures in scoring in 13 of the first 24 contests this season.

McClellan on a Roll
Over the last two games entering Saturday’s contest, Sheldon McClellan has averaged 16.0 points in 23.5 minutes per game while hitting 12-of-22 (.545) field goals and 7-of-9 (.778) free throws. 
 He registered 17 points (7-of-11 FG), three boards and two steals in 23 minutes against Texas Tech (Feb. 4). 
 McClellan tallied 15 points (5-of-11 FG, 5-of-5 FT) and three rebounds in 24 minutes at Texas A&M (Feb. 6). He posted 13 of his 15 points in the first half.
