James and Joseph named NBA D-League All-Stars

Feb. 4, 2013

NEW YORK – Former University of Texas standouts Damion James and Cory Joseph have been selected to play in the NBA D-League All-Star Game on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Houston. The game will air live on NBA TV at 3 p.m. ET.

James (Bakersfield Jam) and Joseph (Austin Toros) will play together on the Prospects Team.

There will be a total of five former Longhorns in Houston during NBA All-Star week. Kevin Durant (Thunder) and LaMarcus Aldridge (Trailblazers) will play in the All-Star game on Feb. 17. Tristan Thompson (Cavaliers) will play in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge on Feb. 15.

The field of 20 players was selected by a vote of the NBA D-League’s 16 head coaches and was broken into two teams by League officials. Players were eligible to be selected based on having played in half of their team’s games through Jan. 27. Each player must be on an active NBA D-League roster at the time of the NBA D-League All-Star Game in order to compete.

Seven players with NBA experience this season are featured on the Prospects’ roster, including James and Joseph. Joseph has played 10 games for the San Antonio Spurs and James has played in two games for the Brookln Nets.
