Notes at a Glance
• Texas meets West Virginia for the first time as Big 12 opponents on Wednesday. The previous three meetings have been decided by three points or less -- a combined point differential of five points. UT leads the series, 2-1 -- both wins were buzzer-beaters in the 2005-06 season.
• The Longhorns are 14-0 in Big 12 home openers during the Rick Barnes era. Texas is 157-15 (.913) at the Erwin Center in the last 11 seasons (dating to the start of the 2002-03 season).
• UT leads the NCAA in FG percentage defense (.339) and 3-point FG percentage defense (.238). The Longhorns are holding opponents to 60.2 points per game this season.
• Texas ranks second in the Big 12 in blocked shots (5.9 bpg). The Horns have posted an 83-41 advantage in blocked shots against its opponents this year.
• Freshman PG Javan Felix leads the Big 12 and all NCAA DI freshmen in assists (6.6 apg). Felix also leads the Big 12 in minutes played (36.2 mpg). He posted a career-high 26 points (11-of-23 FG) while adding nine assists against just one turnover in 43 minutes during Saturday's overtime loss at Baylor.
• Sophomore G Sheldon McClellan leads the team in scoring (15.6 ppg) and is shooting 84.1% (74-88) from the FT line. McClellan has reached double figures in scoring in all of UT's 14 contests this year. He posted 21 points (9-of-19 FG) in 41 minutes during Saturday's overtime loss at Baylor. It marked his third 20-point effort of the year.
• Sophomore F Jonathan Holmes leads the team in rebounds (7.6 rpg).
