Series: The series between Texas and UCLA is tied at 3 after the sixth meeting between the programs. It is the first loss to the Bruins during the Rick Barnes era (3-1).
Starters: Sheldon McClellan, Javan Felix, Jonathan Holmes, Julien Lewis and Cameron Ridley started on Saturday. It is the first time this starting lineup combination has been used. Felix and Holmes are the only Horns to start all nine games this season. McClellan started his first game since Nov. 19 against Chaminade.
Limiting turnovers: Texas recorded a season low in turnovers (11). In the first half, Texas recorded the fewest turnovers in a half this season (2). UT's first turnover of the game was at the 14:14 mark of the first half - the longest period without a turnover to start a game this season.
Double-figures: For the fifth time in nine games, at least three Longhorns recorded double-figure points (McClellan-12, Fleix-13, Ridley-14).
Block party: Texas out-blocked UCLA 7-3, led by three blocks from Prince Ibeh. The Horns have posted a 65-27 advantage in blocked shots against its opponents this year. Entering Saturday's game, Texas ranked second in the Big 12 in blocked shots (7.3 bpg).
Visiting team wins: UCLA acted as the visiting team in the official scorebook for the neutral site game in Houston. It is the first time the visiting team has won a game involved with Texas this season. The Horns are 4-0 at the Erwin Center and defeated Mississippi State in Maui as the home team.
Cameron Ridley became the first Longhorn to record a double-double this season with 10 rebounds and a career-high 14 points. Ridley shot 5-of-6 from the field with three dunks.
Javan Felix shot 6-of-17 from the field to score double figure points (13) for the third time this season. Felix added eight rebounds on the defensive end.
Conner Lammert recorded season highs in rebounds (8) and assists (2).
