Baseball wraps up the early signing period with two additions

AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas Baseball program certified the National Letters of Intent from two more of the top high school student-athletes in the nation on Tuesday to wrap up its early signing period with 11 additions.

The Longhorns combed through the finest players in Central Texas for their final two players of the early signing period adding Parker French, a right-handed pitcher from Dripping Springs, and Brooks Marlow, an infielder from Giddings.

"We added two more players to what is a very strong class," associate head coach Tommy Harmon said. "Both players are capable of making an impact early in their careers."

The final group of signees includes one catcher, two infielders, two outfielders, five pitchers and a pitcher/shortstop.

• 2008 All-District 25-4A Second Team first baseman
• Three-time academic all-district
• 151st-ranked player in the nation and 16th-ranked player in Texas for his high school class by Perfect Game USA

Quote from recruiting coordinator and associate head coach Tommy Harmon Parker is a very talented right-handed pitcher, has great movement on his fastball, throws great strikes and has a good change-up. He should be able to pitch early as well.
