Huston Street set for first All-Star Game appearance
July 10, 2012
With nearly 200 saves at the major league level, even Huston Street's current manager of the San Diego Padres, Bud Black, was surprised that he had never been selected to the All-Star Game before this season. After a stellar first half of the season, Street earned his first-ever All-Star Game honor. He entered the All-Star break with a 2-0 record, a 1.13 ERA and 13 saves for the Padres. Street compiled four saves during the 2002 College World Series to earn CWS Most Outstanding Player honors as the Longhorns won the school's fifth national championship.
