He owns a .533 batting average and .611 on-base percentage as the leadoff batter in an inning. He is 8-for-15 with one double, one triple, two walks and one hit-by-pitch. Other notables include Jordan Danks, who is hitting .440 (11-for-25) with a .576 on-base percentage and David Hernandez, who is hitting .421 (8-for-19) with a .476 on-base percentage. · Coach Augie Garrido picked up his 500th win on The Forty Acres with a 5-3 win over the Texas State Bobcats at The Dell Diamond. With the win, Garrido joined Jim Morris (Georgia Tech and Miami [Fla.]) in becoming just the second coach to ever log 500 or more wins at two separate Division I schools. Garrido earned 929 wins at Cal State Fullerton and has 1,651 wins for his career. He owns a 500-242-1 mark as skipper of the Longhorns. · Longhorns' batters are punishing the opponents early. Texas is outscoring the opponent 51-13 in the first inning, including 31-3 over the last 14 games. On the season, Texas is batting .391 with a .520 on-base percentage and .624 slugging percentage in the opening stanza. The Horns also have 12 doubles, two triples, five home runs and 44 RBI in the 32 first innings or the equivalent of 3.44 9-inning games. · Michael Torres enters the Missouri series with UT's longest active hit streak at 19 games. He is hitting .408 (31-of-76) with 18 runs, three home runs and 19 RBI during the stretch. Torres' streak is the fourth-longest streak in school history. He joins Drew Stubbs (2005) and Chris Edelstein (1995) at 19 games. The UT record is 24 games by Rick Bradley in 1974. The streak is the third UT hit streak to reach the 14-game plateau this season. Cameron Rupp logged a 16-game hit streak and Jordan Danks had a streak reach 14 games.
