AUSTIN, Texas - Texas Baseball junior pitcher Corey Knebel (Georgetown/Georgetown HS) was named to the 2013 Baseball America Preseason All-America second team as announced today by the publication. Knebel led the Longhorns last year with a 4-5 record and 2.08 ERA with nine saves. He tied the school single-season record for saves (19) in his 2011 freshman season as he was named NCBWA and Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Freshman Pitcher of the Year as well as NCBWA Stopper of the Year.
Texas Baseball will play its annual Alumni Game this Saturday at 2 p.m. before opening the 2013 regular season on Friday (Feb. 15) against Sacramento State at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
