With two outs, Jordan Danks singled up the middle stole second base and scored on a single by through the left side of the infield by Bradley Suttle. The Sooners intentionally walked Kyle Russell allowing Preston Clark to deliver a two-run single down the leftfield line staking Texas to a 3-0 advantage.
Texas (25-8, 7-1 Big 12) had opportunities to get on the board early, but the Sooners' ace Heath Taylor was able to get out of multiple jams and the Longhorns stranded 13 runners on the base paths for the game, including two each in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings. Texas also left the bases loaded in the eighth inning.
Taylor (5-1) was saddled with the loss for Oklahoma. He allowed three runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out six Longhorns.
