2008 HIGHLIGHTS
· Logged 2.0 scoreless innings and three K's in win over VCU (2/22).
· Fanned a season-high 11 batters in 6.0 innings while allowing only two runs on six hits against UT Pan American (2/26) to earn his first career victory.
· Pitched 4.0 innings of relief and earned win against Kansas (3/14), allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four.
· Earned win against Texas Tech (3/20), pitching 5.1 innings of relief and yielding one run on three hits and striking out six.
· Recorded his first career save in the series finale against Texas Tech (3/22) throwing 1.0 inning of hitless shutout relief.
· Threw 6.1 innings of relief to earn a win at Oklahoma (4/6), giving up one run on two hits while striking out six.

· Pitched a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts for the Western All-Stars in the Cape Cod League All-Star Game.
· Ended the summer rated as the No. 5 prospect in the Cape Cod League by Baseball America.

HIGH SCHOOL
· Four-year letterwinner as a pitcher and shortstop for Coach Kelly Shackelford at Bowie (Texas) High School.
· Posted a 10-2 record with one save, a 0.81 ERA, 171 strikeouts and 12 walks in 76 innings on the mound and batted .481 as a senior captain to earn District 8-3A MVP, first-team Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-State, first-team Louisville Slugger All-America and Rawlings All-Region honors.
· Logged an 8-1 record with one save, a 0.94 ERA, 109 strikeouts and 10 walks in 67 innings on the mound and batted .459 to earn District 8-3A MVP, first-team TSWA All-State and honorable mention Louisville Slugger All-American accolades as a junior.
· Registered a 9-4 record with two saves, a 1.39 ERA, 110 strikeouts and 13 walks in 80 innings to earn first-team All-District 8-3A and TSWA All-State honorable mention as a sophomore.
· Earned all-district honorable mention as an infielder his freshman year.
· Selected in the third round (107th overall) of the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.
· Also earned two letters in football as a quarterback for Coach Brad Keck.
· Served as team captain as a senior and earned district newcomer of the year as junior.
